i play with the phrase each other

Oft referred to as the cell phone movie, I Play With The Phrase Each Other is the first feature film from writer/director Jay Alvarez. Its unofficial designation refers to the film's cinematic conceit, which is, in form, a vast matrix of incessant correspondence between friends, strangers, coworkers, employers, and employees.

The film was shot in a textured black and white, involving no post-processing. Jay's second feature film is called Dizzy Pursuit, executive produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Infinity War).

The film won the Special Jury Prize at the Slamdance Film Festival in 2014. It had its world premiere in London at the Raindance Film Festival the previous year. Its local premiere was held in 2014 at the Portland Film Festival.

I Play With The Phrase Each Other was produced by myself, Megan Kopp, and Jay Alvarez. It stars Megan Kopp, Jay Alvarez, Will Hand, and Alexander Fraser. I was the film's cinematographer and editor.
